George Casper Hiob, age 91, formerly of Aberdeen, MD, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Bel Air. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Charles and Bertha (Kreafle) Hiob. Prior to retirement, he worked for the federal government as an Engineering Technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
George was an avid and accomplished waterman, and countless thousands of fish, crabs and shrimp met their demise at his hands. He was an excellent dancer, and along with his beloved wife, won many dance contests over the years. He enjoyed playing games and was a skillful card player. He loved spending time with his large circle of family and friends, especially at their home on Chincoteague Island, VA.
George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Spies Hiob; children, Brenda Moore (Andrew), Michael Hiob (Barb), Sandy Hill (Cecil), Gary Hiob (Karen) and Danny Hiob (Teresa); grandchildren, Brendan and Victoria Moore, Adam and Hannah Hiob, Faith and Hope Hill, Tyler and Kellee Hiob, Alex and Chris Hiob; and great grandchild, Rory Hiob.
The family will be hosting a visitation on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Bel Air, MD from 10 am -12 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12 pm.
