Genevieve Ann O’Hare (nee Ryan), longtime resident of Middle Village, NY, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 1 in Bel Air, MD. Beloved daughter, wife, mother, Gram, DiDi, and friend. Genevieve was born in Manhattan on August 19, 1929, to Edward and Genevieve (Reynolds) Ryan, and raised in Woodside. She graduated from St. Michael’s Academy and was an active member of their alumni society for many years. She married the love of her life, John, and they were happily married until his passing in 2005, shortly after their 54th anniversary. Genevieve is also predeceased by her daughter Genevieve Mary. She is survived by her loving children Mary Ellen Picone, John O’Hare and Maureen Saei; devoted in-laws Omar Saei and Shana Aborn; adoring grandchildren Elizabeth Picone Mullen, Scott Picone, Daniel and Sarah O’Hare, Garvey and Gavin Saei; and cherished great-grandchildren Bailey, Devin, and Cooper Mullen. Genevieve was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends, whether it was at one of her many holiday and special-occasion parties, organizing events as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout troop leader, working the concessions stand as a member of the Parkside Players theater company, or organizing St. Michael’s class reunions. We will deeply miss her love, laughter, and joy in living. Funeral arrangements by McComas Family Funeral Home in Bel Air. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
Due to current restrictions, there will be no visitation.
Memorial plans will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her name to St Jude's Children's Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project or The Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House, where she spent the last hours of her life.
