Gene "Tubby" Kemen, age 91, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on December 22, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in in Bel Air, MD. He was born in Madison, Minnesota to William Kemen and Anna Kemen. A 49 year resident of Harford County, he was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army where he served our country in both WWII and the Korean War. He was a survivor of Iwo Jima where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Church, VFW, and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid square dancer, along with his wife, and also enjoyed camping.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally Kemen; son, Michael Kemen and wife, Susan; granddaughter, Brittany Kemen; and step-grandson, Wesley Keithley; siblings, Conny and Arthur Kemen, Sister Anna Lou Kemen, Barbara Kemen and Judy Kuwata. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald, Kenneth and Billy Kemen; and sister, Rosemary White.
