GARY STANLEY RUSSELL, age 65, of Joppa, MD, died at University of Maryland Medical Center on December 24, 2005.
Born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lewis Glenn and Mildred Stanley Russell.
He grew up in Gardenville and was active as a Boy Scout who became an Eagle Scout. As a teenager he was very involved in Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church and it’s Youth Group. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and became the Vice President of Overflo Warehouse in Baltimore. He was a very kind, caring and compassionate man who was full of life. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
His interests included spending time with his family, working on the computer, and traveling. He enjoyed playing and watching sports especially football.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife , Servet Acil Russell; one son, Charles G. Russell and his wife, Tanya A. Russell of Kendall Park, New Jersey; one daughter, Susan L. Jovanovic and her husband, Zlatko Jovanovic of Ashburn, Virginia; one sister, Sharon R. Farr of Abingdon; three grandchildren, William C. Russell of Kendall Park, New Jersey, Goran F. Jovanovic and Davor S. Jovanovic, both of Ashburn, Virginia. He is also survived by a beloved aunt, Dorothy Russell of Baltimore, MD and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Donald G. Russell.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Russell, Orhan Suleiman, Zlatko Jovanovic, Yavuz Acil, William Klein, and Huseyin Koklu.
