Gary Thomas Russo, age 73, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. Born in Staten Island, New York, Gary was the son of the late Joseph and Dolores (O'Boyle) Russo and the devoted husband of 51 years to his high school sweetheart, Joan Russo.
Gary had a passion for hard rock and loved playing the guitar. Known for his vibrant personality, he was incredibly gregarious and social—a true people-person who lit up every room he entered. Gary was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure everyone felt welcomed and loved. He was a Beloved brother-in-law and uncle.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Russo; his son, Joseph (Kelly) Russo; daughters, Julie (Tyler) Ahlfeldt and Colleen (Alex) Hessel; his sister, Doreen (Kevin) Burke; and his brother, James Russo. He was the proud grandfather of Laila, Kate, Lily, Sam, and Nolan Thomas.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Russo.
