GARTLEY JONES, age 79, of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, Maryland, on June 7, 2004. Born in Rocks, Maryland, he was the son of the late Gaither Winfield and Ina Mary Rhodes Jones. He worked for the Harford County Board of Education as a carpenter for 15 years. He raised livestock for 12 years in Harford County, including cows, chickens, and pigs. A Harford County, Maryland, resident for 61 years, he enjoyed camping. He was a member of Wakefield, Pennsylvania Lions Club. He was a member of Baptist View Church, Forest Hill, Maryland, since 1946 where he served as a deacon, a former treasurer, and a clerk.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Martha J. Jones; one daughter, Marcia L. Mullins of Bel Air, Maryland; step-daughter, Joan Jackson of Kirkwood, Pennsylvania; one sister, Nova Ann Harbaugh of Hanover, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Frances E. Jones; and a step-daughter, Joyce Cutler.
Pallbearers will be: William Quesinberry, Tom Petty, Bryan Cutler, John Ruger, Ed Hoke and Bill Harbaugh, Jr.
