Gale Roland Brown, age 82, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on January 1, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Nathans Creek, of Ashe NC, he was the son of the late James Emory and Eula Elizabeth Brown. A resident of Harford County for 72 years, he served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Cone 866. He had worked as meat cutter for 60 years, retiring in 1995 from Giant Food after 15 years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years where he was a Sunday school teacher, and an interpreter for the deaf ministry. He enjoyed bowling, genealogy and listening to gospel music.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Brown; son, Jeffrey A. Brown of Bel Air; daughter, Pamela Brown King and husband, Mckenneth King, of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Zachary Brown, Joshua King and Jacob King; brothers, Jackson D. Brown of Milford, DE and Jerry H. Brown of Hight Point, NC; and sisters, Ethel Alger of High Point, NC, A. Jean Chell of Jarrettsville, Catherine Gilbert and Mary H. Leppo, both of Churchville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Tommy Gale Brown.
