Gail Alexander, age 78, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (DeBoeser) Gardner and the cherished wife of 47 years to Harvey Lee Alexander.
As a young mother, Gail had the joy of caring for her niece, Terri Murray, who loved her deeply as a mother. Family was central to Gail’s life, and she treasured gatherings with loved ones, often enjoying a few beers and sharing laughter. She never missed an episode of her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives, and her mornings were marked by her simple pleasures—waking up to a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
Known for her affectionate nature, Gail had heartwarming sayings for her grandchildren, often spreading her arms wide to say, “How much do I love you… this much,” and playfully asking, “Throw me a kiss.” She lovingly called her husband “Tootsie,” to which he always replied with a smile, “Okay, Wootsie.”
Gail is survived by her devoted husband, Harvey; her daughter, Lena Margaret (George) Cosner; her son, Kenneth (Karen) Williams; her grandchildren, Heather Cosner and Alex Cosner; and her great-grandchildren, Spencer Randers-Pehrson, Daniel McIntosh, and Jocelyn Serio.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny, Guy, Chuck, Bruce, and David Gardner.
Contributions in Gail's memory may be made to The American lung association.
