Fredna Norman Vaught, a native of Harford County, Maryland, died in Fredericksburg, VA on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the age of 87. She was the oldest daughter and second child of the late Nora and Joe Norman.
Fredna was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" Vaught and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Vaught of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Bob Hart of Stillwater, MN; grandson Scott (Mandy) Vaught of Catawba, VA; granddaughter Lindsay Vaught of San Diego, CA; granddaughter Erica (Ehren) Loughney and great-grandchildren Quintin and Paige of Hammond, WI. She is also survived by two sisters, Rose Blevins and Ruth Jehnert. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Frank and Howard.
Fredna was a longtime active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bel Air, MD where she also served as church secretary for over 25 years. She, her husband, and dear friends Bill and Jane Armstrong, were the co-founders of the Harford Region of the American Automobile Association of America. Fredna and her husband owned Vaught's TV sales and services for many years before retiring to their log cabin mountain home, "Robert's Folly," in beautiful Elk Creek, VA. She and her husband were actively involved in the Elk Creek Rescue Squad Auxiliary, Jerusalem Methodist Church and various other community service organizations. They were also co-founders of the Galax Chapter of the American Automobile Association of America.
