Frederick David Volz Jr., 72, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on October 21, 2024, at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, Maryland surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Frederick and Thelma (Bell) Volz. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Maeby) Volz.
A proud Army veteran, Fred dedicated his life to serving his country and community as a police officer. He was known for his unwavering integrity and compassion, making a positive impact on those he encountered.
Family was at the center of Fred’s life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He also had a special bond with his dogs—Savannah and Javi—who were treated as cherished members of the family.
An avid baseball fan, Fred especially loved the Baltimore Orioles and enjoyed sharing his passion for the game with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Frederick is survived by his sons, and their wives; Kevin David Volz, Tracy Meehan, Bryan David Volz, Kristen Volz; grandchildren, Jameson Patrick Volz, and Arya Elise Volz; and brothers, Robert Volz, Charles Volz, Richard Volz, and Joseph Volz.
In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Kohl.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
