Frederick Monroe Ayers

Frederick Monroe Ayers, age 87, of Jarrettsville, Maryland passed away on December 11, 2022 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Jarrettsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Roy and Dorothy Lee Tracey Ayers. On June 24, 1961, he married Thelma V. Acker at Dublin United Methodist Church. They celebrated 61 years of marriage together. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of R.E.A.C.T. in the late 70's and 80's and served as President for 2 years. Fred loved going to the beach, camping, and visiting Chincoteague. He could be found working in his large garden or mowing his property. He also enjoyed woodworking and making things for his family.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Thelma (Acker) Ayers; son, Roy Edward Ayers; daughter, Karen Michelle Moyer; daughter-in-law, Andrea Marie Ayers; grandchildren, Austin Monroe Ayers, Ryan Louis Ayers, Caitlin Michelle Moyer, and Nicholus Adam Moyer, Jr.; and great grandchild, Taylor Elizabeth Moyer, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Helen Louise Crouse and Betty Jane Heaps, half-sisters Lillian Joyce Hamilton and Janet Speer and stepfather Lawrence Hamilton. Survived by half-sister Mildred Williams (Howard) of South Carolina.
