FRED VINCENT GUMP, JR. age 56, of Edgewood, died at his home on December 23, 2002. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Sarah Catherine Cole Gump of Baltimore and the late Fred Vincent Gump, Sr. A resident of Harford County for 30 years, he was the director of Mother Goose Shoe Corp. and the owner and operator of Buster Brown Shoes in White Marsh. He served at several management positions throughout his career. He helped develop and organize recreational programs for disabled children in Edgewood. He coached Harford County Parks and Recreation Softball and was the President of the Oak Landing Homeowners Association. He loved to travel and was loved by many.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Gump is survived by his wife of 32 years, Roxanne Gail Hogan Gump; one brother, David Cole Gump of Elk Grove, California; two sisters, Susan C. Drohan of Catonsville; Mary C. Esworthy of Mt. Airy, Maryland; two grandchildren, Samantha Arlene Cobert of Abingdon; and Allison Grace Cobert of Abingdon. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by one daughter, Jennifer Gump Cobert.
