Franklin G. Isom, age 70, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on April 25, 2014. Born in Rocks, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond Kyle and Lillian Ruth (Sexton) Isom. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Vietnam War and was honored with the Army's Expert Marksman Award. He was a long standing member of American Legion Post 39 and the VFW. Mr. Isom retired after 40 years with the Federal Government as an X-ray Technician winning many awards over the years for his work and dedicated service. He was an avid waterman, fishing and crabbing the Chesapeake Bay and its many tributaries. He also enjoyed hunting, especially, geese and deer.
Mr. Isom is survived by his wife, Judith E. Isom; sons, Chad Isom and wife, Nicole, R. Daniel Isom and wife, Nicole, all of Bel Air; daughter, Nicole Isom Harris and husband, Kyle, of Abingdon; brother, Ed Isom and wife, Donna, of Abingdon; grandchildren, Breanne Isom and Rowan Harris; sister-in-law, Dora Isom of Edgewood; uncle, Clarence Sexton of Galax, VA, nieces and nephews, Debbie Rezek, Michele Millay, Brenda Taylor, Ray Isom and Ed Isom; great nieces and nephews, great-great-nephew, cousins and many friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Gene Isom and sister, Opal Coale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Mr. Isom to Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403.
