Frank Salerno, YNC USN (Ret), age 71, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 18, 2009, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony Salerno and Julia Musso Cifuni, and stepson of the late Enrico Cifuni. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during the Vietnam Era, and retired as Chief Petty Officer after 23 years of service. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland following his naval service. A resident of Charles County for 32 years, he resided in Harford County for the past five years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Sons of Italy Chapter 2464.
Mr. Salerno is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Hayden Salerno of Bel Air, MD; son, Daniel Salerno of Germantown, MD; daughters, Julie Dahlen and husband, Todd, of Poolesville, MD and Teresa Jump and husband, Douglas, of Bel Air, MD; brothers, Robert Salerno of Miami, FL, Richard Cifuni of Arizona City, Arizona, and Joseph Salerno of Kane, PA; sister, Anna Taylor of St. Marys, PA; and grandchildren, Nicole, Sean, and Alex Dahlen and Sarah and Abigail Jump.
