Frank Joseph Mattes, Sr., age 45, passed away suddenly at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is survived by his loving son Frank J., Jr., his father Frank Louis Mattes, Jr., his mother Patricia Sophie (Carnes) Mattes, his devoted brother, Michael P. Mattes, his sister in law, Tanya (Pavlitsa) Mattes, and his two nephews Michael and Alex Mattes.
He is the owner of Mattes Seafood of Aberdeen, MD and the Crazy Tuna Bar & Grill restaurant in Essex. He graduated from C.Milton Wright in 1986.
Frank is remembered in his life as the kid that started working with his father at the tender age of 5 yrs. old. He was taught so well about making money that he started selling seafood on his own on an ATV with an ice chest strapped to the back of that three -wheeler to sell fish, crab meat , etc. to neighbors and teachers. He now has built an empire of Mattes Seafood.
He thrived on turning failures of things into gold. Work and decisions were his masterpiece and passion. He loved living the large life with family foremost. He cherished hunting, fishing, having fun, and making sure everyone around him had fun as well. Whatever he set out to accomplish, he DID!! He did everything FULL THROTTLE! His generosity to charities, families, and employees was second to none.
