Frank John Smith, age 87, of Forest Hill, MD, died on December 8, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late Frank John Smith Sr. and Cecelia Marie McGuire Smith. He was a combat veteran of the United States Navy, serving our country during World War II aboard (and as a plank owner of) the USS Mount McKinley; an avid golfer and hunter; and a member of the Bel Air Lions Club and the American Legion.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elaine M. Regina Smith of Forest Hill, MD; sons, Michael Raymond Smith of Boise, ID, and Michael Richard Smith of Bel Air, MD; daughters, Cecelia Marie Parker of St. Thomas, PA, and Karen Mayme Strobel of Belcamp, MD; brothers, Raymond, Gail, Richard, and Donald Smith, all of Warren, PA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Boyd Smith.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bel Air United Methodist Church, 21 Linwood Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.
