Frank Edward Gostomski, age 71, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away at his home on May 7, 2023. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Snyder) Gostomski and husband of Mary (Huesman) Gostomski. Frank was valedictorian of his class in 1969 at the John Carroll School—a school he held close to his heart throughout his life. He completed his bachelor’s degree at La Salle University and attained his PhD from The Catholic University. He translated his education into a 33-year career in water toxicology for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC.
Frank had several passions in this world, including his love for Ocean City, MD, where he met the love of his life of 51 years on the boardwalk and regularly took his family to vacation; his love for storytelling, with which he would transfix his grandchildren for hours; and his love for Elvis, which needs no explanation. His devotion to and passion for his family, his love of the outdoors, especially hunting with his children and grandchildren, his regular presence at the Red Cross to donate blood to help others, and his steady and warm presence as an usher at St. Mark’s Catholic Church will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his daughter, Katie Schepis; sons, Frank Gostomski Jr. and wife Pam, Michael Gostomski and wife Lisa, and Mark Gostomski and wife Jody; brothers, John Gostomski and wife Barbara and William Gostomski and wife Virginia; sister, Mary Dorsch and husband Ed; grandsons, Nathan, Matthew, Frankie, Tyler, and Ryan; and granddaughters, Anna, Laura, Paige, and Callie.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Anthony Schepis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s name to the John Carroll School in Bel Air Science wing improvement fund at Online Donations (veracross.com)
