Francis William Sullivan Jr., 72, of Pylesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland.
Born in Maryland, Francis was the beloved son of the late Francis and Evelyn (Prechtel) Sullivan.
In the early years of his career, Francis worked aboard steamships in the Port of Baltimore for Ramsey Scarlett and Atlantic Container Lines. Later, he dedicated many years to landscaping, where his talent and passion for the craft shone brightly. A meticulous caretaker, he took great pride in maintaining his home and lawn, finding joy in every detail.
Francis was a man of many passions. Among his favorites were motorcycle rides—his ultimate escape. Known for his adventurous spirit, he often embarked on "day trips" to Florida, creating cherished memories along the way.
A true socialite, Francis was well-known and loved by those around him. His vibrant personality and genuine kindness left an impression on everyone he met. Above all, he devoted his life to his family, always ensuring their well-being and happiness.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Francis is survived by his son, Francis (Billy) William Sullivan III of Shrewsbury, PA; daughters, Daina Sullivan of Forest Hill, MD, and Michelle Ridgely Lloyd; sister, Patricia Sullivan; brother, Tom Sullivan; grandchildren, Christopher Lloyd, and Theo Lloyd.
