Francis M. Cox, age 92, a beloved resident of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on February 20, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was born in Nebo, Virginia, to the late Francis and Ada (Gullion) Cox. Francis was the devoted husband of the late Reba (Goodman) Cox, with whom he shared 61 years of cherished marriage.
A dedicated veteran, Francis served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a high voltage lineman, retiring from Baltimore Gas and Electric. Francis was a devout member of Calvary Baptist Church, where his active participation enriched the community.
Francis possessed a passion for bluegrass music and was a skilled guitarist, delighting all who had the pleasure of hearing him play. He found joy in his vegetable garden and orchard, tending to them with care and dedication. Francis was known for his playful jokes and sense of humor, which endeared him to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and parents, Francis was predeceased by 12 siblings and his son-in-law, David Bryner. He is survived by his loving daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Longo and Sherry Bryner, his son, Kevin (Betsy) B. Cox, Sr., six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous, loving nieces and nephews.
Francis M. Cox will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished.
