Frances P. Espey

Frances P. Espey, age 84, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on January 10, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Bristol, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Lewis and Ina Frances Doak Hoops. She had worked as a school bus driver for Trinity Lutheran Church and as a clerk in a grocery store. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 17 and a life member of the Abingdon Fire Company Auxiliary. She enjoyed setting up Fire Prevention displays throughout the state and also helped out with the bake sale tables at the Fire Company and church. She also enjoyed taking day trips and longer trips to the mountains with her husband.

Mrs. Espey is survived by her husband, Lewis E. Espey of Edgewood, MD; son, Robert W. Ellis and wife, Marie; stepdaughters, Betty Mull and husband, Donald J., Shirl Eller, Laurie Moffett, Karen Backus and husband, Jeffery, Susan Espey, and Lois Espey; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William Hoops; and sisters, Mary (Sissy), Esther and Mamie.
