Frances Margaret Hopkins, age 85, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on August 29, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Bel Air, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Ella Mae Jordan Hilditch. Frances touched many lives with her smiling face and warm personality. After attending The Dublin School and graduating from Bel Air High School in 1949 she worked at F.W. Woolworth, the A&P grocery store, and in later years, at the APG Commissary. Mrs. Hopkins enjoyed traveling with her husband of 55 years, and had visited all of the United States and many countries abroad. Following retirement, Frances, her husband, George, and a group of close friends would meet regularly for lunch to reminisce and discuss the events of day. These couples came to be known as the "Lunch Bunch." She took a keen interest and enjoyed learning about her family's genealogy and attended many family reunions across the Country. Frances loved all animals but especially her cats. Frances was also an avid collector of Hummel figurines.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband, George Sidney Hopkins, her twin sister Martha Hopkins of Bel Air as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Bernard Hilditch and her sister, Mary Regina Adams.
Pallbearers will be Edward Hopkins, Phil Hopkins, Robert Rexroth, Charles Hopkins III, John Burns, Bernard P. Hilditch Jr., and Bernard P. Hilditch III.
