Frances Irene Basl

Frances Irene Basl, 82, of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 18, 2015 at her home. Born in Creswell, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Ray Johnson and Alma Jane (Wood) Johnson. She had worked at both Fallston Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for 27 years where she was a Mail Room Supervisor. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked to travel, play Bingo, attend family reunions, and was always very active. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding motor cycles with her husband, brothers and friends, playing with her children, sewing, bowling, and enjoying life. She had a great sense of humor and was a very good sport. She was an excellent cook and homemaker.

Mrs. Basl is survived by two sons, Dane Basl and Carl Basl; one daughter: Cheryl B. Dunbar and her husband David of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren: Scott Davis, Melissa Murtaugh, Stephen Dane Basl, William Donald Basl and Brian Basl; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Carl Johnson and his wife, Doris, of Stewartstown, PA, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Dwayne Basl; her brothers, Robert Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Larry Johnson, and her sister, Elizabeth Carr.

Fran was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.

Pallbearers are Stephen Basl, William (Billy) Basl, Carl Johnson, Jr., Sean Johnson, Thomas Murtaugh and Michael Dunbar.
