Florence M. Titus

FLORENCE M. TITUS, age 86, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 9, 2006 at the Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Fulford, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Waidlich and Beulah Madeline Waters Mears, and the wife of the late Archie Tharpe and the late John C. Titus. She had worked as a hairdresser as well as a school bus contractor and driver. Her hobbies included bowling, crafts, sewing, knitting, crochet, ceramics and baking. She was a lady of many talents- upholstery, needlepoint, and cross-stitch. Her family said that she was a loving mother who took pride in raising her family.

Mrs. Titus is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Thomas, and her husband, Boyd, of Fallston, MD; two sisters-in-law, Jean Mears of Havre de Grace, MD and Betty Stansbury of Timonium, MD; one sister, Kathryn Hildebrand, and her husband, William, of Towson, MD; four grandchildren, Deborah Hays of Shreveport, LA, Susan Bell of Forest Hill, MD, Tricia Blizzard of Fallston, MD and Neil Tharpe of Aberdeen, MD; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Titus was predeceased by one son, Archie Tharpe, Jr.; one brother, David Mears; and one sister, Elizabeth Davenport.

Pallbearers will be Neil Tharpe, William Blizzard, Robert Bishoff, Jr., Mark Bedsaul, Steve Kurek, and Joseph Kurek..
