Florence Almeda Bowers

FLORENCE ALMEDA BOWERS joined her family in Heaven from the home of her caregiver, Bernadine Allen on April 20, 2008. Formerly of Bel Air, MD and Oak Crest Retirement Center, Baltimore, MD, her husband, Earl C. Bowers preceded her in death in 2000. Born in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Cordelia Delephine Hayton Bailey. Mrs. Bowers was a retiree of Martin Marietta, Middle River, MD, where she was employed for 33 years. She was 98.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by a sister-in-law, Esther Bailey of Fredericksburg, VA; three nieces, Dorothy McNew of Baltimore, MD, Virginia Moore of Abingdon, VA, and Betty Cain Avesian of Fredericksburg, VA; and four nephews, Fred Crenshaw of Edgewood, MD, Frank Crenshaw of Tallahassee, FL, George Bailey of Pasadena, MD, and Robert Bailey of Brisbane, Australia; and her caregivers, Bernadine and Misty Allen of Parkville, MD.
