Faye C. Vass

Faye C. Vass, age 81, of Bel Air, MD, died on June 13, 2011 at Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Carroll County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Malon and Callie Snow Collins and wife of the late Lester C. Vass. Originally from Virginia, she had resided in Harford County since 1958. She worked as a bookkeeper, for 16 years, at Vass Brothers Lumber Company, and from 1992-2006 she worked for the Harford County Board of Elections in the voter registration department. She enjoyed family and friends and was known for making Sunday dinners for everyone. She also enjoyed country music, working in the garden, and sewing at which she had made several wedding dresses for family and friends. She had also traveled around the United States with her husband to watch Major League Baseball games.

Mrs. Vass is survived by her sons, Danny P. Vass and wife, Sue, and Dennis L. Vass and wife, Tammy, all of Street, MD; daughter, B. Sue Fuller and husband, Sherman, of Bel Air, MD; brother, C. Pierce Collins and wife, Hattie, of Pipers Gap, VA; grandchildren, Kevin Fuller, Kristy Tharpe and husband Neil, Dennis J. Vass, Rachael Vass, and Sarah Vass; and great-grandchildren, Lane Tharpe, Chase Fuller, and Dylan Vass.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Pansy and Melva Collins, and Pearl Osborne.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Fuller, Dennis Vass, Neil Tharpe, Donald Vaughan, Sherman Fuller, and Dwight Dunbar.
