F. Philip Smith

F. Philip Smith, age 87, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on June 1, 2013 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born October 4, 1925 in Lincoln, IL he was the son of the late Floyd Donald Smith and Grace Ratliff Smith; husband of Edith Smith for 67 years; father of Wendy S. Long and husband, Don and the late Craig T. Smith; grandfather of Donald Long IV and wife, Jen, the Rev. Andrew Philip Long, Julie Givens, Jeffrey Smith and Timothy Smith; and great grandfather of Brayden Donald Long and 7 other great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Wayne Schott.

He served as Electricians Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII in Europe and retired from R.C.A. Service Co. after 37 ½ years. He was a Master Mason of 45 years of service in the Bethlehem Lodge 89 in Delmar, NY and a life member of American Legion Post 39, Bel Air, MD.
