Evelyn Walls Pardew

EVELYN WALLS PARDEW, age 82, of Abingdon died in University of Maryland Hospital on October 26, 2004. Born in Abingdon, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Frances Eula Settle Walls, and the wife of the late Ward L. Pardew. She had retired after 20 years of service as the church secretary at Oak Grove Baptist Church. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she was famous for her homemade dinner rolls, she worked in the kitchen providing meals for many of the church functions and also worked in the nursery.

Mrs. Pardew is survived by two sons, Walter O. Pardew of Abingdon and Dwight A. Pardew of Abingdon; two brothers, Russell K. Walls of Port Orange, Florida and Ralph D. Walls of Churchville; one sister, Edith M. Roth of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Erin M. Pardew and Rachel G. Pardew, both of Abingdon.
