EVELYN VIRGINIA CARTER, age 60, of Edgewood, died in Harford Memorial Hospital on October 2, 2004. Born in Aura, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Roland Lee and Ruth Marguerite Frazier Washington. An Edgewood resident since 1976, she had been with the State of Maryland Department of Parole for 10 years and a counselor for 5 years with the Maryland Department of Corrections. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Edgewater, Maryland.
Mrs. Carter is survived by four sons, Jerome Carter of Los Angeles, California; Glenn Carter of Sweden; Darrin Carter of Havre de Grace; Mark McCoy of Maryland; three brothers, Earl Washington of Alabama; Rev. James Washington of Pennsylvania; John Washington of New Jersey; one sister, Sherrylyn Parker of Edgewood; eight grandchildren, Danielle Hamilton-Carter; Nicole Hamilton-Carter; Isaac Carter; Gabriel Darius Carter; Mya Carter, all of Sweden; Morgan Carter of Havre de Grace; Mark McCoy, Jr, of Edgewood; and Zachary McCoy of Kansas.
