Evelyn T. Smick

Evelyn T. Smick, age 91, of Jarrettsville, Maryland passed away on November 8, 2023 at her home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Getek) Trzeciak and wife of the late Russell E. Smick for 59 years. She was a proud member of the Jarrettsville Homemakers Association, Madonna AARP, the Knights' Ladies, St. John's Long Green Council 8736, and a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hydes, MD. Evelyn was a devoted 4-H leader. She was passionate about teaching others and passing along the wisdom and knowledge she had acquired throughout her life. She left no room for idle time and kept busy sewing, flower gardening, baking, and preparing meals for her household. Evelyn was incredibly creative around her home and enjoyed arranging flowers.    

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Regina (Joseph) Smick-Attisano, Laura (John, Jr.) Perdue, Denise Smick, and Janine (Richard, Jr.) Ortt; sisters, Dorothy Morin, Rita Moulton, Mildred Flynn, Irene Urbanski and Celeste Skruch; grandchildren, Catherine, Suzanne, Allison, Peter, Elizabeth, MaryClaire, Sarah, Madeleine, James, and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Ruthanne, Milton, Estella and Graham.
