Evelyn Marie French

On February 20, 2018, Evelyn Marie French, age 93, of Bel Air, MD, went to be with the Lord at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD, surrounded by her family. Born in Tannersville, VA, she was the daughter of Solon Jesse Wyatt and Mattie Mae (Shawver) Wyatt, and was the wife of the late Robert Maynard French, Sr. He was pastor of Dublin Missionary Baptist Church and Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. As the Pastor’s wife, she served two churches, and went on several mission trips, and was very active in every aspect of church life. They enjoyed traveling to all 48 contiguous states and Europe. She loved reading, quilting, teaching children and studying the Bible. She began her teaching career teaching disabled children in their homes. She later taught second grade at Darlington Elementary School.

Mrs. French is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Richard) L. Thomas of Bel Air; son, Robert (Ruth) French Jr. of Longs, SC; grandson, Scott (Laura) French of New York, NY; and great-grandsons, Christophe French and Luca French both of New York, NY.

The pallbearers will be Robert M. French, Jr., Richard L. Thomas, Donald Perkins, Jeff Robertson, Mac Moser and Bill Mitchell.
