EVELYN E. SCHUTZ, 98, of Port Charlotte, FL, and formerly of Upper Falls, Maryland, died on Monday, October 23, in Port Charlotte. She was born October 29, 1907 in Fullerton, MD to John Frederick and Dora Orem Schutz. She graduated from Bel Air High School in 1927 where she was Editor and Chief of the El Adios Bel Air High School yearbook and she also served as class president for two years. Miss Schutz had a rewarding career in education after graduating from George Washington University in 1931 with a degree in teaching. A Latin and English teacher, she retired from Parkville High School in Parkville, MD in 1970. She was a world traveler who had a love for Shakespeare and had resided for several years in London, England before returning to the United States. Miss Schutz moved to Port Charlotte six years ago. Throughout her life, she was a loving caregiver for her family and friends. She was a lifelong Christian and a member of Franklinville Presbyterian Church where she was very active.
She is survived by her nieces, Joan Counts of Port Charlotte, FL and Carol Foley of Ocean City, MD; her cousins, William Barton, Virginia Ray, and Raymond Corbin of Baltimore County; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
