DR. EVAN HARRIS WALKER, age 71, of Aberdeen, MD, died on August 17, 2006 at Harford Memorial Hospital. Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late James Whittman and Eva Victoria Harris Walker. He was a physicist, an artist and an author. He was the founder and the director of the Walker Cancer Institute in Aberdeen, MD. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland in 1964. He wrote more than 100 papers that were published in scientific journals and popular magazines. During his career, he made major scientific contributions in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, physics, neurophysiology, psychology and medicine. He held a dozen patents.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Walker of Aberdeen, MD and one brother, James W. Walker, Jr. of Dothan, AL.
