Eugene "Whitey" Probst, age 89, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 12, 2011 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Lancaster County, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer Eugene and Elva Ruth Graybill Probst, and husband of the late Lela Alice Probst. He was a former farmer, and also retired in 1986 from Edgewood Arsenal after many years of service. He loved animals, especially peacocks, geese, and cats. He loved visits from his friends and enjoyed drives through the countryside.
Mr. Probst is survived by brothers, Francis Probst of Holtwood, PA, Kenneth Probst of Drumore, PA, Donald Probst of Mineral, VA, and John Probst of Peach Bottom, PA; sisters, Esther Morris of Lancaster, PA, Elsie McComsey of Willow Street, PA, Shirley Esbenshade of Manheim, PA, and Jacqueline Miller of Quarryville, PA. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Roy Probst and sister, Janet Hohenwarter.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Probst, Donald Probst, John Probst, Bill Esbenshade, Dave Miller, and Dennis Probst.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senator Bob Hooper House, 2007 Klein Plaza Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050.
