Eugene "Gene" G. Burg

Eugene “Gene” G. Burg, age 89, of Churchville, Maryland passed away on July 25, 2021, in his home. Born in Far Rockaway, New York, he was the son of Eugene Burg Sr. and Alice (Cunningham) Burg. He was an atomic veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. He managed an off-set printing company most of his life and after retiring volunteered at the Anita Leight Estuary Center, enjoying everything about it. He was voted one of Harford County’s Most Beautiful People and was an active member or St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Hickory, MD and was also a member of the Holy Name Society. Gene enjoyed hiking, canoeing, being outdoors and gardening, creating a beautiful yard every year.

Gene is survived by his wife of 60 years; Ellen Burg, daughters, Tracy Burg; Lizanne (Mark) Ferrell; grandchild, Heidi Ferrell; and sister, Jane Smith, half-sister; Rita Bozzi; and stepsister, Carol Ann Isakovski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter Burg and his sister, Theresa Willis.
