EUGENE FEDORUK (GENE) of Joppa, MD; formerly of Baltimore City, passed away, May 25, 2006, at Franklin Square Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was 79 years old.
Gene is survived by his wife, Nancy Turner-Fedoruk (nee Combs), of 43 years, and four daughters and spouses. Diane Mick, Cynthia & Richard Vojtech, Karen & John Bryant and Nichole & LeRoy Fothergill; all of Maryland, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Vera DiPoala of Delaware and two nieces, Diane Eliasen of Minnesota and Jeanne Landon, also from Maryland. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Karp and Selma Fedoruk.
Gene’s education stemmed from Poly Technical Institution, Maryland Institute of Art and University of Southern California. Gene retired from Baltimore Gas & Electric Company after 44 years of service. He was trained as a machinist and worked the first half of his years as such, and then as a draftsmen/designer/engineer—and when, he retired, his company position of P.E.D. (Plant Equipment Designer) was also “retired”. Gene was a W.W.II Veteran, having served his country in the Army.
Gene’s hobbies were many, as he relished much of the art world, model building, coin/stamp collector, fishing, golfing, and was also an avid reader.
He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bradshaw, MD and thus services from there were held on Monday May 29th at 10 AM with Rev. Larry G. Rock officiating, and burial following at The Russian Orthodox Cemetery., in Elkridge, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Pulmatory Research/Support organization at Franklin Square Hospital, 9000 Franklin Square Dr., Baltimore, MD 21237.
