Ernest Warden Billings

Ernest Warden Billings, age 72, of Joppa, MD went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2018 at Lorien Riverside in Belcamp, MD. Born in Sparta, NC, he was the son of Matt Dewitt Billings and Esther (Hawkins) Billings and was the husband of the late Carol Ann Billings. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry Artillery Division during the Vietnam War. Ernie was faithful, loved the Lord and strived to be a good Witness to all he knew. He enjoyed the grandchildren and attended different events they had. He loved old muscle cars. He enjoyed doing handyman projects to help out his family and friends.

Mr. Billings is survived by three daughters, Karen Elaine Sherman of Abingdon, Lesley Joanne Hack of Roxboro, NC and Melissa Elizabeth Braun of Church Hill, TN; ten grandchildren, Ronald Sherman, III, James Sherman, Jordan Sherman, Joshua Hack, Aaron Hack, Mickey Wingate, Chris Wingate, Arik Wingate, Beth Wingate, and DyAnna Farrington; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Jarusek and Mary Billings both of Jacksonville, FL; and brother, Manuel Billings of Galax, VA.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
