Ernest Mullett, 81, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on March 29, 2015 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born in Thomas, OK, he was the son of the late Benedict B. and Fannie (Mast) Mullett. He grew up a farmer in Western Maryland and spent fifteen years on the Delmarva Peninsula as a logger where he owned and operated his own company. From 1965 to 1982 he worked for the Kent County Board of Education where he taught grades 5 through 10 in Delaware. He worked at Food Lion in Edgewood and Walmart in Abingdon and, for a number of years, drove a big rig. A member of Mountain Christian Church, he was an avid reader and enjoyed playing his harmonica.
Mr. Mullett is survived by his fiancée, Marline Hess of Edgewood; sons, Matthew Bender Mullett of Orcutt, CA and Michael Rene Mullett of Greenwood, DE; brother, Samuel James Mullett of Wellston, OH; sisters, Mary Schrock and Ruth Tennefoss both of Greenwood, DE, Miriam Boychuck and Martha Brubacker both of of Kitchner, Ontario, Esther Hawk of Seaford, DE and Mildred Wardell; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Mullett both of Greenwood, DE. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Nathan A. Mullett and sister, Verda Robertson.
