Eric P. Coomes

ERIC P. COOMES, age 42, of Felton, PA, died on May 19, 2007, at York General Hospital, York, PA. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of Mary E. Riley of Fallston, MD, and the late Donald Mack Coomes.

Eric was a loving father, and much loved son and brother. To his friends and family he will always be remembered simply as a good man who could always make you laugh. He wanted for nothing material in his life. Despite his recent illness he repeatedly remarked that, "He had nothing to complain about. He had had a good life and couldn't ask for more." He was a truly grateful man who touched many lives in profound ways. An accomplished stone mason, he worked side by side with his dear friend Karen Weinreich in PA and MD.

He was known for his beautiful artistry and care in everything he created. He was a soulful bass guitarist and singer in the band Stone Blue, performing in the PA area. He was also a former member of the band Circle of Fire, which he enjoyed with his sister Darlene Coomes, performing in and around Harford and Baltimore County. He loved his family and dearest of friends, his horse Shocker, his farm in Felton but mostly he loved his three children, Jake, Mariah and Zack.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Coomes is survived by his wife, Suzanne Lynn Little Coomes of Felton, PA; two sons, Jacob Thomas Coomes and Zachary Ethan Coomes, both of Felton, PA; one daughter, Mariah Renee Coomes of Felton, PA; his stepfather, James W. Riley of Fallston, MD; one grandmother, Mary Frances Bayles of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Michael D. Coomes of Street, MD, and Sean C. Coomes of Stewartstown, PA; six sisters, Donna M. McGill of Florence, NJ, Michelle L. O'Brien of Fallston, MD, Darlene M. Coomes of Annapolis, MD, Lisa S. McGann of Bel Air, MD, Jennifer C. Hollingsworth of White Hall, MD, and Katie S. Hartman of Delta, PA; 31 nieces and nephews and one great niece.

In addition to his father, Mr. Coomes was predeceased by a brother, Christopher Matthew Coomes.
