EMILY ROSELLA SHIPLEY (nee MORLOK), age 102, of Aberdeen, died in University of Maryland Medical System Shock Trauma, Greene Street in Baltimore on January 29, 2005. Born in Carsins Run, she was the daughter of the late John George Frederick and Rosella Agnes de Martin Morlok and the wife of the late William Simon Shipley. She had retired from her position as a supervisor at Edgewood Arsenal. She lived in Harford County all her life and was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aberdeen where she was very active. She was a member of the Altar Guild, a Sunday school teacher for 40 years, and a member of Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association, WELCA. She loved working with her roses, sometimes winning first prize for her entries. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word puzzles. She was a notary public for 48 years.
Mrs. Shipley is survived by a niece, Shirley Anne Morlok, of Aberdeen, with whom she lived since Shirley was 6 weeks old. She is also survived by a dear friend, John H. Deppisch of Ocean City, MD. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Christian Louis Morlok and George Frederick Morlok; and four sisters, Christine Wilhelmina Beaver, Catherine Marie Moulsdale, Julia Agnes Wirsing, and Anna Fredericka Noonan.
Pallbearers were: David Morlok, Robert Edwards, George Leedom, Charles Hiob, Walter Clifford and Robert Lieske.
