Emily Mitchell Hanson

EMILY MITCHELL HANSON, age 93, of Bel Air, MD, formerly of Churchville, MD, died on November 6, 2006, at Hart Heritage Assisted Living, Street, MD. Born on February 26, 1913 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late McHenry and Laura Perry Dreschler Mitchell and the wife of the late W. Franklin Hanson. She was a longtime active member of Holy Trinity Church in Churchville, MD. She studied piano at Peabody Conservatory and enjoyed gardening, playing the organ, reading, and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by two sons, Robert Emmet Hanson of Aberdeen, MD, and David Mitchell Hanson of Bel Air, MD; and three grandchildren, Tammy L. Barber of Annapolis, MD, Benjamin D.F. Hanson of Corpus Christi, TX, and Courtney A. Hanson of Silver Spring, MD

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Robert Emmet Duval Mitchell.
