Elva O. O. Lowery

Elva O. O. Lowery, a resident of Joppa, MD, died at the age of 85 on September 5, 2016 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Elva was born in Romney, WV to Oscar Roosevelt and Ivey Pearl Lowery (both predeceased) as one of three children, Gerald Lowery (predeceased) and Garland Lowery. Elva was a veteran, serving our country during the Korean War. For over 55 years, he served as Pastor at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, singing, and music.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Avery Lowery; Children and spouses, Daniel and Madeline Lowery; Darrell and Connie Lowery; Mary and Mark Vaught; Darlene and Woody Shenk. Grand children, Marissa Lowery; Sarah Lowery; Alexandra Varga. Great grandchild Natalija Ana Varga; and extended family Mike Shenk; Katie Shenk; Heidi Shenk; Woody JrShenk; 6 great grand children.
