Elsie I. Leizear

ELSIE I. LEIZEAR, age 90, of Joppa, MD, died on February 25, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Riverside, NC, she was the daughter of the late Richard Filemore and Bina V. Wilcox Day and wife of the late Stanley F. Leizear Sr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked for Bel Forest Christian Academy for several years. She was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Leizear is survived by a son, Stanley F. Leizear Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Bel Air, MD; a daughter, Alice M. Sexton and her husband, Roger, of Joppa, MD; one sister, Louise Beavers of Edgewood, MD; four grandchildren, Jennifer Petrik of Abingdon, MD, Creighton Leizear of Bel Air, MD, Jason Leizear of Aberdeen, MD, and Walter Leizear of Delta, PA; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia Strong of Bel Air, MD, Jacob and Logan Petrik of Abingdon, MD, and Molly and Nicholas Leizear of Aberdeen, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara J. Strong, three brothers, Radford Day, John Day, Kenneth Day, a sister, Evalee Miller, and a grandson, Wilson "Skip" Strong.

Pallbearers will be Creighton Leizear, Jason Leizear, Walter Leizear, Richard Beavers, Harold Beavers, Tony Day, Sam Day, and Larry Day.
