Elsie F. Bane

Elsie F. Bane, age 82, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 5, 2008 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home in Rising Sun, MD. Born in Hunter, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richardson C. and Charlotte Dolan Layton. A Harford county resident since 1954, she worked for C&P Telephone Company for 22 years as a Fraud Investigator. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a champion checker player. She enjoyed making candy, working jigsaw puzzles, and cooking.

Mrs. Bane is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arlis Sanford Bane Sr. of Bel Air, MD; four sons, A. Sanford Bane II of Bel Air, MD, L. Jesse Bane of Fallston, MD, R. Lindy Bane of Sandston, VA, and John W. Bane of Sanford, NC; three daughters, Renee L. Marchand of Abingdon, MD, Grace E. Phillips of Conowingo, MD, and Bonnie S. Moyer of Baltimore, MD; brother, Ralph Layton of Schenectady, NY; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Phillips, Sara Phillips, Kelly Furgason, Brett Marchand, Nick Moyer, Tommy Moyer, Kirk Bane, and April Bane.
