Elmer C. Jarusek

ELMER “ANDY” C. JARUSEK, age 80, of Abingdon, MD, died on November 4, 2006 at Perry Point VA Hospital, Perry Point, MD after a long term battle with Parkinsons Disease. Born in Abingdon, MD, he was the son of Francis Elmer and Helena Pacholik Jarusek. He worked at LWL (Limited War Labs) at Aberdeen Proving Ground and then became Chief of Supply and Services Division at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Mr. Jarusek was a WWII veteran who served his country in the U. S. Navy. He had a Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins and a BA degree from Universtiy of MD. He was a life member of the Abingdon Fire Company having been with them for sixty four years and was a long time member of the American Legion Post in Bel Air. He was an avid sportsman and decoy carver and was very active in Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

Mr. Jarusek is survived by his wife of fifty years, Lilo M. Ritter Jarusek of Abingdon, MD; one son, Philip A. Jarusek of Frenchtown, MD; one daughter, Christina Jarusek-Newman and her husband Edward L. Newman of Edgewood, MD; one sister, Katherine Jarusek-Smith of Edgewood, MD; two granddaughters, Angelique M. Newman-Jarusek and Andrea N. Newman both of Edgewood, MD; and one great-grandson, De’von A.C. Jarusek of Edgewood, MD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jarusek was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Jarusek and Frank Jarusek.

Pallbearers will be Philip A. Jarusek, Christina E. Jarusek, Edward L. Newman, Ronnie L. Jarusek, Carl E. Jarusek and Bobby Jarusek. Honorary pallbearer is De’von Jarusek.
