Elliott Marie Smith

May 4, 1993 — September 17, 2021

Elliott Marie Smith, age 28, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away at her home on September 17, 2021. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, she was the daughter of Jeffrey and Mary (Renz) Smith and the sister of Spencer, Tucker, and Mara. She was adored by her late twin brother Tucker, and the two were inseparable for the eight years they had together.

She graduated from Stevenson University in Pikesville with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. She continued her education at Towson University where she earned a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Growing up, Ellie became an accomplished gymnast competing up through level nine and receiving many awards throughout her journey. She was a fiercely competitive spirit with a passion for board games, puzzles, and card games. She enjoyed tennis, rugby, and cross-country. Ellie loved the outdoors. Among her many adventures, she climbed mountains, snowboarded, and scuba dived. She loved all animals, while sharing a special fondness for pigs with her grandmother Doris. She enjoyed all kinds of music and loved cooking for others. Ellie was a stunning young woman with piercing blue eyes, a quiet strength and a warm heart. She cared deeply for her loved ones who will all miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Ellie is survived by her sister, Mara Katherine Smith (Neil Peterman); brother, Edward Spencer Smith; grandmother, Doris Smith; and many loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her twin, Joseph Tucker Smith.

Ellie had sparkling eyes and a beautiful smile: in lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to the Orbis Sight Flight Organization, 520 8th Avenue, 12th Floor, New York, NY, 10018 or the Smile Train Organization at smiletrain.org.
