Ellen (Nellie) Medley

ELLEN “NELLIE” MEDLEY, age 80, of Conowingo, MD, formerly of Harford County, died on September 4, 2006 at her home. Born in Wythe County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Price Houck and the late Florence Alberta Goodpasture Myers and the wife of the late Carl Edward Medley. She worked for the Harford County Board of Education for 23 ½ years as a cook in three different schools, Bel Air High, Southhampton Middle and C. Milton Wright High. An avid cook, she loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed doing puzzles and crafts. Her family said she loved her dogs.

Mrs. Medley is survived by two sons, James A. Caldwell Sr. and his wife, Mary , of Belcamp, MD and Johnny L. Medley and his wife, Patty, of Newark, DE; one daughter, Carlotta E. Crouse of Conowingo, MD; one brother, Robert L. Houck of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Susan E. Parks of Prattville, AL; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son–in-law, Jerry D. Crouse Sr.; two brothers Willie G. Houck and James Roy Houck; and one sister, Virginia M. Campbell.

Pallbearers will be David C. Dowell, Jerry D. Crouse Jr., Charlie L. Crouse, Danny A. Neel, Joshua S. Medley and James A. Caldwell Jr.
