Ellen Meusel

ELLEN MEUSEL, age 99, of Fallston, MD, died on June 4, 2007, at Oak Crest Care Center. Born in Galway County, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Anne McDermott Glynn and the wife of the late Jerome Andrew Meusel. In 1925, she moved to Baltimore and then to Harford County. She was married on November 3, 1937. She loved numerous crafts and was an excellent seamstress, making everything from clothes to draperies. She joined the Harford County Senior Center where she learned how to make ceramics, and at age 93, she learned and began weaving baskets. She did aerobics well into her 80’s. She was a former member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and attended services at Oak Crest in recent years. She was a wonderful storyteller and poet, and had a wonderful Irish sense of humor.

Mrs. Meusel is survived by two daughters, M. Patricia Wisel of Fallston, MD, and Kathleen E. Melewski of Kingsville, MD; four grandchildren, Sandra Libby of White Marsh, MD, Steven Wisel of Bel Air, MD, David Wisel of Fawn Grove, PA, and Lisa Lauer of Arnold, MD; and four great grandchildren, Alex Libby and Caitlin Libby, both of White Marsh, MD, and Lance Lauer and Alexander Lauer of Arnold, MD.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Meusel was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Eric Libby, Alex Libby, Don Lauer, David Wisel, Desmond Glynn, and Billy McHale.
