Elizabeth "Betty" Kidd Riordan, age 83, passed away January 12, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, from the complications of Parkinson's Disease. Her son and daughter-in-law were by her side.
Betty was the devoted daughter of the late Elizabeth Waters Kidd and Edward J. Kidd. She was a lifelong resident of Fallston, MD.
Born on August 24, 1928, she was a graduate of Bel Air High School, and was graduated from Towson State Teachers College. She was a devoted teacher at Old Post Road and Youth's Benefit Elementary Schools in Harford County. While enjoying her teaching profession, she was an excellent homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was married to the late William C. Riordan and is survived by their son; William C. Riordan III and his wife, Mary "Sissy", of Fallston. Betty was the loving sister of Nancy Lee Kidd and Edward J. Kidd Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, also of Fallston.
She had a knowledge of the way Fallston was during the 1930's, 40's, and afterward, and enjoyed "filling in the blanks" when answering questions about the history of the community of that period. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Madonna and The Chimney Corner Club in Fallston.
Private services in remembrance of Betty were held with The Rev. Dr. Richard L. Sheffield officiating. Interment was at The Little Falls Friends Meeting House Cemetery in Fallston.
