ELIZABETH “BETSY” L. GEIS, age 94, of Parkville, MD, died on June 3, 2007, at Oak Crest Village Nursing Home, Parkville, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Krauter Frye and devoted wife of the late Jacob H. Geis. Mrs. Geis, known as Betsy by most people, taught second grade at Churchville Elementary School until her retirement in 1977. She loved teaching school and working with children. She also enjoyed horseback riding and she rode several years at the Golden Vein Riding School located in Havre de Grace, MD. She resided in Susquehanna Hills until she moved to Oak Crest Town Center in 1996. She was also well traveled and went on many trips and cruises to different parts of the world. She was especially fond of cruises. She was very faithful to her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. She had many friends there and she will be missed by many who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Geis is survived by two sons, Jacob W. Geis and his wife, Jane, of Linthicum, MD and Harry F. Geis and his wife, Clare, of Joppa, MD; a sister, Marie Kershaw of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Amy Amanda Geis of Linthicum, MD, Scott M. Geis and his wife, Teresa, of Peach Bottom, PA, Andrew J. Geis of Hickory, NC; and one great-grandchild, Blane D. Geis of Peach Bottom, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandchild, Renee C. Jones.
