Elizabeth Anne ''Betsy'' Brandt

ELIZABETH ANNE "BETSY" BRANDT, age 61, recently of Edgewood, MD, died on June 12, 2008 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, Betsy was the daughter of the late Charles "Buck" Henry Alexander Sr. and Thelma "Elly" Eleanor Gilbart Alexander. An outgoing, compassionate person, she was employed caring for children and the elderly. She loved classical music, having played the trumpet and French horn in school.

Betsy took pride in her ability as a fantastic cook. She often welcomed visitors with a homemade pot of soup and fresh coffee. She was a generous and accepting friend and beloved sister, mother and grandmother. Her granddaughter Sara Nicole Deitz, of Jarrettsville, MD was her pride and joy.
Betsy graduated from Bel Air High School and lived for many years in New Jersey. She managed the Amoco gas station in Edgewood, MD for several years.

Ms. Brandt is survived by a large family of two brothers, Peter G. Alexander of Craig, CO and Jeffrey J. Alexander of Bel Air, MD; four sisters, Bonnie J. Alexander of White Hall, MD, Mary Alexander Hall of Jarrettsville, MD, Marcia L. Alexander of Parkton, MD, and Paula A. Simons of Bel Air, MD; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Katherine "Katie" R. Deitz; a brother, Charles "Chuck" H. Alexander Jr.; and a sister, Lassie J. Krummel.
